Went to this Catholic church this morning sat down, looked around, but couldn't find the minister. I could hear him but the message was hard to decipher coming from another room. Turns out I was in the chapel. It has been over 30 years since I was in a Catholic church and I looked around to see if I could feel jesus there. The minister was saying things but I was having trouble stringing his words together to get a meaningful message. Someone in the choir pierced through everything shrieking above the rest. I closed my eyes for quite awhile. When I opened them I saw The Pope in evidence among other sympols in white. I heard the priest reference him. They must have been giving communion in the other room because a woman showed up with the sacrament of the Lord to pass out. People took it in their hands & put it in their mouth. Now that's different than I remembered. The priest used to put it on your tongue. Then people kissed each other in the rows in front of me. That's new too I thought. I still couldn't feel Jesus there ....so I left. When I got in my car there he was waiting for me. Oh joy I thought!

  • We visited this Catholic Church on our honeymoon. Father Albana was the celebrant priest and he was absolutely incredible! He was very dynamic and welcoming. His
parishioners reflected that as well. Everyone was so kind and caring. We will visit next year when we are in town

I attended for nearly 30 Years. Raised my daughter in the Church and School. I sometimes go now but go more often to the evening Mass in Ft Myers. Two Churches there, with an Evening Mass. I voiced this once before, but see the comment was erased. When evening Mass was brought back, it was without music. And rushed through. It is sad to go out of the area and drive right past St Andrews in my close vicinity. You can find Jesus in any Catholic Church. It is sad when you have to find one in a different City to find a Evening Mass. They seem to understand and care.

  • We moved to Fort Myers Florida in 2003 ... Lived on a boat for nearly 3 years while attending St. Francis. We bought a home and settled at St. Andrews as it was more traditional. We have been favorably impressed with the community and the school. Many community events and ministries. The only negative seems to be the constant churning of priests. Woulda't move!

  • It was interesting, we came at 12:00 mass expecting mass in English because your website said the Spanish mass was at 1:30
But we still enjoyed the singing and the atmosphere. I grew up with masses in Latin so it took me back.
